José Carreras, is a Catalan operatic tenor from Spain who is particularly known for his performances in the operas of Donizetti, Verdi and Puccini. In 1987, he started working on a film version of La bohème directed by Luigi Comencini. It was during the filming of La bohème in Paris that he was found to be suffering from acute lymphoblastic leukemia and given a 1 in 10 chance of survival. However, he recovered from the disease after undergoing a gruelling treatment involving chemotherapy, radiation therapy and an autologous bone marrow transplant at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in Seattle. Following his recovery, he gradually returned to both the operatic and the concert stage, embarking on a tour of come-back recitals in 1988 and 1989 and singing with Montserrat Caballé in Medea (Mérida, Spain 1989) and in the world premiere of Balada's Cristóbal Colón (Barcelona, 1989).In 1990 the first Three Tenors concert took place in the Baths of Caracalla in Rome on the eve of the 1990 FIFA World Cup finals. It was originally conceived to raise money for Carreras's leukemia foundation and as a way for his colleagues, Plácido Domingo and Luciano Pavarotti, to welcome their "little brother" back to the world of opera. However, it and the subsequent Three Tenors concerts brought Carreras a fame that went far beyond the opera house. It is estimated that over a billion people around the world watched the television broadcast of the 1994 Three Tenors concert in Los Angeles.
By the 2000s Carreras's recording and live concert repertoire had moved largely to art song, Neapolitan songs, the light classical genre, and 'easy-listening'.[13] He has also increasingly performed and recorded with artists from outside the classical music world, such as Diana Ross, Edyta Górniak, Lluís Llach, Peter Maffay, Udo Jürgens, Klaus Meine, Charles Aznavour, Kim Styles, Sarah Brightman, Vicky Leandros, Jackie Evancho, Sissel Kyrkjebø, Debbie Harry, Majida El Roumi, and Giorgia Fumanti. Beginning in 2002, Carreras scaled back his live performances to recitals and orchestral concerts.

He is university-trained in classical as well as contemporary music, and is known for his exceptionally wide vocal range. Although offered a position at the Astana Opera, he decided to carve out his career in contemporary music, mixing classical elements and traditional Kazakh music with pop music. From 2010 to 2013, Dimash participated in and won four major singing competitions, in Kazakhstan (Sonorous Voices of Baikonur, 2010, and Zhas Kanat, 2012), Ukraine (Oriental Bazaar, 2012), and Kyrgyzstan (Meikin Asia, 2013) In early 2017, Dimash appeared in the fifth season of Hunan Television's I Am a Singer (Chinese: 歌手2017),[53][9] under the recommendation of director Hong Tao, and signed a contract with Black Gold Talent in Beijing. At 22, he was the youngest participant in the history of the show, and competed against professional and top-selling Chinese singers as a 'wildcard' competitor. Dimash's mother later said that he hoped to reach at least the middle stage of the competition. He won Episodes 1, 2 and 6, with his performances of "S.O.S d'un terrien en détresse", "Opera 2", and "Adagio".[55] He made it to the finals, and finished as runner-up to Hong Kong singer Sandy Lam.

Dimash Qudaibergen - Qarlygashym Uya Salganda (Official Music Video)
A beautiful song, written by the two brothers for their sister on her wedding day (sung by Dimash) English title 'When my swallow builds her nest". I could see this as a father/daughter dance song.
The traditional Kazak wedding is held over three days with a lot of ceremonial events. On the third day, the family of the bride escorts her to the groom's home (city) where the official wedding is conducted as the bride leaves one family and enters into a new family symblolicly. The three days are quite festive with different bridal attire matching the event.

Dimash @World's Best Full Performance and Judge Scoring
The program was not one that Dears liked due to the judges' reaction to Dimash leaving the show. His performances received high praise from the judges, and the global panel. However Dimar made a dramatic. And controversial decision to withdraw from the show during the championship. His decision was based on the show calling for adults to compete against children, a format that he was not in agreement with so he announced that he would withdraw. He had been a clear favorite and a viewer drawing card for the show so this decision was met with some hostility from, not only the production staff, but the judges. Their lack of understanding and the rude manner shown to him upon the annoucement upset fans, Dears.

Pantry Help!
I have very little cabinet space in my apartment and after living in a house for many years have accumulated a lot of items that need storage. I decided to converta utility closet into a pantry, adding a wire shelving unit. It has worked but needs some additions to make it truly workable.

The Rules of Chocolate
If you get melted chocolate all over your hands, you're eating it too slowly.
Chocolate covered raisins, cherries, orange slices and strawberries all count as fruit,so eat as many as you want.
The problem: How to get two pounds of chocolate home from the store in a hot car.
The solution: Eat it in the parking lot.
Diet tip: Eat a chocolate bar before each meal. It'll take the edge off your appetite and you'll eat less.
A nice box of chocolates can provide your total daily intake of calories in one place. Isn't that handy?
If you can't eat all your chocolate, it will keep in the freezer. But if you can't eat all your chocolate, what's wrong with you?
If calories are an issue, store your chocolate on top of the fridge. Calories are afraid of heights, and they will jump out of the chocolate to protect themselves.

Chocolate has many preservatives. Preservatives make you look younger.
Why is there no such organization as Chocoholics Anonymous?
Because no one wants to quit.
Put eat chocolate at the top of your list of things to do today. That way, at least you'll get one thing done.
